[Ministry of Justice] - University Student Internship in Probation and Parole Work Implementation Plan

Internship Target Group
This program is aimed at university students majoring in Education, Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology, Counseling, Law, Civil Education, Crime Prevention, Children’s Welfare, and related fields. Qualified students should be recommended by their academic institutions. Applicants must be in good academic standing, healthy, passionate about service, and interested in probation and parole work. Graduate students and undergraduates (2nd, 3rd, or 4th-year students) are eligible for the internship at the district prosecutors' office.

Internship Period
For summer internships, the duration is generally six weeks. For internships during the academic term, the schedule should align with the university’s academic calendar.

The internship is hosted at various district prosecutors' offices. Detailed information can be found in the annex containing the list of offices and contact numbers.

Internship Content

1. Case Investigation and Analysis

   • Assist in drafting counseling plans for probation cases.
   • Help gather and analyze case data for classification and treatment levels.
   • Assist in investigating and analyzing the reasons for revocation of parole.
   • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of probation cases after the completion of the supervision period.

2. Group Counseling

   • Assist in facilitating group counseling activities such as psychological counseling, religious education, marriage and family counseling, vocational guidance, anti-drug education, and other wellness activities.

3. Legal Education and Advocacy

   • Help plan and run regular "Legal Classroom" sessions to promote legal knowledge and enhance compliance with the law among probationers.

4. Social Resource Understanding and Application

   • Assist in referring probation cases to social resources.
   • Investigate and liaise with social support systems to assist probation supervision.

5. Other Activities

   • Additional tasks as approved by the district prosecutors' office for university student internships.

Internship Stipend
There is no stipend.

Eligibility
University students majoring in Education, Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology, Counseling, Law, Civil Education, Crime Prevention, Children’s Welfare, and related fields are eligible. Students should be recommended by their academic departments, be in good standing, and have a passion for service in probation work.
