2025 “Learning Abroad — Dream Building / New Southbound Learning Abroad — Dream Building” Program

  • Basis:
Handled in accordance with the Guidelines for Subsidies Encouraging Domestic Colleges and Universities to Send Students Abroad for Study or Overseas Professional Internships (hereinafter referred to as “the Guidelines”).

  • Purpose:
    (1) “Learning Abroad — Dream Building” Program:
Through international cooperation programs, students are selected to undertake workplace internships at enterprises or institutions in countries other than New Southbound countries (excluding Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao). The university independently arranges internship organizations and plans internship fields to enrich internship courses, strengthen the integration of learning and practice, and enhance career and life guidance.

    (2) New Southbound “Learning Abroad — Dream Building” Program:
Students are selected to intern at enterprises or institutions in New Southbound countries with development potential. The program aims to help domestic students gain a deeper understanding of the lifestyle, culture, and background of these countries, contributing to future long-term relations and cooperative development with these nations.

  • Eligibility Requirements:
    (1) Project Principal Investigator (PI):
Must be a full-time faculty member of the university. One co-investigator may be appointed, who must be a full-time or part-time faculty member of the university.

    (2) Selected Students:

    1. Must be a citizen of the Republic of China (Taiwan), hold household registration in Taiwan, and be an enrolled student at the university for at least one semester. This excludes students enrolled in domestic or overseas in-service programs.

    2. Must meet the professional and language proficiency requirements set by the university.

    3. Students from other universities may be selected to participate in the program, but an official consent letter from their home institution—allowing participation during their enrollment period—is required.

    4. Students must maintain active enrollment at the university during the internship abroad. Leave of absence or withdrawal is not permitted. After completing the internship, students must return to the university and report back. Violations will result in reimbursement of subsidies in accordance with the administrative contract, and the funds will be returned to the Ministry of Education.

    5. Each applicant may receive this subsidy only once per educational level.
